SCQF Level 11 Professional Diploma in Business Administration + MBA top – up with specialisations from University of Gloucestershire

This postgraduate diploma has been credit rated by a Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Credit Rating Body with 120 credits at level 11 (equivalent to EQF level 7). Learners who successfully complete the PDBA will automatically be able to undertake the online top-up of the UoG MBA delivered by LEB and awarded by UoG.

Programme Structure

Stage 1: Professional Diploma in Business Administration (PDBA)

Stage 2: Masters Stage (dissertation/project) delivered online and supervised by LEB.

We have a general MBA or an MBA with five specialisation. Whether you’ve worked in business for a number of years, or are a specialist and wish to progress into a more senior management position, this course will give you an opportunity to work at a more fundamental level on the issues that matter in business.

Or, as a recent graduate you can enhance your employment prospects. Whatever your level of experience, the MBA offers a flexible study route and will allow you to refresh and enhance your management skills and knowledge.

You’ll investigate changing areas of strategy, leadership and management theory and practice, and will be able to confidently apply this knowledge to practical organisational situations.

Stage 2: The Dissertation / Major Project

The purpose of the dissertation/project is to allow the student to carry out a self-managed piece of work that provides an in-depth investigation of an issue relevant to the field of management and business. The dissertation allows the student to critically evaluate and synthesise relevant business related philosophies, theories and models, undertake a process of enquiry using primary and/or secondary

data sources and critically relate these academic concepts to a relevant area of business management activity. The dissertation allows for an analytical study of academic topics within the context of practical business decision making and can thereby contribute to the body of knowledge in the domain of management and business. The reflective element of the dissertation will give the student an opportunity to critically analyse and evaluate their learning journey.

1. MBA in Accounting and Finance – Dissertation Module

Whether you are an experienced finance professional seeking senior leadership roles, or a recent graduate aspiring to strengthen your career prospects, this dissertation route allows you to specialise in Accounting and Finance at an advanced level. You will explore contemporary issues such as financial strategy, risk management, corporate governance, and investment analysis, while building your wider leadership and management capabilities. Alongside the opportunity to achieve CMI accreditation, the module enables you to conduct original research

that addresses critical financial challenges and apply this knowledge with confidence to practical organisational contexts.

For those aiming to progress into senior people-management roles or to enhance employability in HRM-related careers, this dissertation pathway offers the chance to specialise in Human Resource Management. 3. MBA in Operations and Supply Chain Management – Dissertation Module

Assessment 

10% Assignment: Individual: Proposal 1,500 words

80% Dissertation / Major Project: 15,000 words

10% Assignment: Individual: Reflective Paper 1,500 words

Delivery Modes

Blended Learning mode – Each taught Module of the PDBA should have a total of 8 hours of face-to-face lectures and supported by self-study using the Online Learning Resources and online interactions with the Module Leader.

Fully Online mode – Each taught Module should have a total of 8 hours of asynchronous classes. There will be a Programme Tutor to answer any questions or queries. This will be supported by self-study using Online Learning Resources. Pre-recorded video lectures for each module will be provided.

Entry Requirements

      • A Bachelor’s Degree qualification in any subject from an institution recognised by LEB.

      • A professional qualification equivalent to a degree and a minimum of two years of working experience.

      • Mature and high potential candidates without degree or equivalent qualifications but hold Diplomas or Advanced Diplomas with more than six years of work experience of which at least two years are at supervisory / managerial level.

      • Mature and high potential candidates without Diploma qualifications but with more than 8 years of work experience of which at least 3 years are at supervisory / managerial levels.

      • Demonstrate English Language proficiency in order to participate in the programme taught in English.

    Duration 

    The programme can be completed in 12 to 18 months.
